School of Healing Prayer Reference Form
Dear Pastor, Superior, or Spiritual Director:
The person who provided your contact information desires to attend our Marian Servants of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic School of Healing Prayer. This school is being conducted by the Marian Servants of the Blessed Sacrament in St. Augustine, Florida. The school is in accord with the mission of the Marian Servants to bring Catholic Christians to a deeper understanding of their vocation and mission in Christ, in the Church, and in the world. As Marian Servants, we are faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
The purpose of this program is to bring Christ’s healing love and refreshment to Catholics (laity, ordained, & religious) and other Christians serving in pastoral ministry thus allowing them to more deeply serve as instruments of God’s healing, mercy, and love to all who are hurting.
This program is designed to provide spiritual education and formation to Catholics, and other Christians around the world who are seeking to deepen their understanding of Christ and His ministry of healing. The purpose of the school is not specifically to produce ministers of healing prayer, but to form those who seek to deepen their relationship with the Lord so that they are better able to receive Christ’s healing and incorporate His healing into any pastoral care they are already doing.
Participants will be able to:
- Experience a deeper presence of the Lord’s healing for themselves.
- Articulate their relationship with Christ and minister to others out of His love.
- Encourage others more deeply with the compassion and mercy received in Christ (1Cor. 1:3-4).
- Incorporate principles of healing prayer into their own lives, families, and ministries.
- Evangelize by seeking out and responding in Christ’s love to those who are hurting
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
This program is designed to enable Catholics, and other Christians to understand and receive Christ’s healing ministry and begin to incorporate aspects of this ministry that we, as Disciples of Christ are called to, into any pastoral care one is already doing.
Applicants already called to any type of pastoral ministry (ordained or Lay) are encouraged to attend. For this school we are seeking Catholics, and other Christians with a level of maturity that would suit them to work with others in areas of woundedness with compassion, care, confidentiality, and sensitivity. People with serious emotional difficulties would not be suitable for this training program. Would you be so kind as to answer the following questions for us?
